Lizzy, M.S. CCC-SLP
Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montevallo
Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham
Lizzy is a dynamic and compassionate speech-language pathologist with a deep personal connection to the work she does. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and followed it with her Master of Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montevallo. Growing up in Douglasville, Georgia, Lizzy was inspired to pursue this career after her sister was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis at 5 months old. Despite doctors’ prognosis that she would never speak or eat correctly due to damage, speech therapy played a crucial role in her recovery, inspiring Lizzy to help others achieve similar milestones.
Throughout her career, Lizzy has worked with children from 1-18 years old, specializing in social skills development, particularly with kids on the autism spectrum. She is passionate about teaching children how to express emotions, make friends, and engage in meaningful conversations. Lizzy is known for her high energy and ability to bring even the shyest clients out of their shell, creating a safe and fun space for them to thrive.
As a former foster child herself, Lizzy has a special heart for supporting kids in foster care and is deeply committed to encouraging their growth and self-expression. She was honored to receive the “Outstanding Graduate Student” award for her cohort and continues to be an advocate for positive change in the lives of the children she works with.
Outside of work, Lizzy enjoys spending time with her significant other trying out new bagel spots or exploring local restaurants. She loves hiking, attending concerts, and cherishing moments with her family. Above all, Lizzy strives to be remembered as someone who encouraged others, lifted them up, and made them feel good about themselves.
